—  Community Involvement & Local Giving

The communities we work in are the ones we live in.

Buckshot has been a family-owned business since 1979, and the towns across Wisconsin and Iowa where we put roofs over people's heads are home. We believe a local business should show up for its neighbors. Know a cause or a neighbor who could use a hand? Tell us.

    —  Why It Matters To Us

    SEC 01 / 06

A local business should act like one.

We're not a national chain passing through. We've been family-owned since 1979, our crews are local, and the people we serve are our neighbors. That shapes how we think about giving back.

    Home is local

The towns where we work are where our families and crews live too. Supporting them is supporting ourselves.

    People over transactions

A roof is a big moment in a family's life. We try to treat every customer, and every neighbor, like we'd want to be treated.

    Showing up after storms

When a storm rolls through, communities pull together. As a contractor, we try to be a steady, honest presence when people need help most.

    —  What We Look To Support

    SEC 02 / 06

The kinds of causes close to home.

Rather than spread thin, we'd rather make a real difference close to where we work. We're especially drawn to the things that keep a community strong:

    —  Where This Comes From

    SEC 03 / 06

    Family-Owned Since 1979

    Built on small-town roots.

Buckshot's owner, Chad Yates, grew up in Orfordville, Wisconsin, and learned the trade working alongside his father in the family construction business. That small-town, family-first upbringing is still how the company operates today.

It's why we use our own crews instead of subcontractors, why we treat a customer's home like our own, and why being part of the community, not just working in it, matters to us.

    A family trade

Roots in a family construction business, carried into Buckshot.

    Our own crews

Local people doing the work, accountable to their own neighbors.

    Nominate a cause or neighbor.

Tell us about a local organization, school group, community project, or neighbor in our Wisconsin or Iowa service area who could use support. The more you can share about who they are and what they need, the better.

We’re drawn to local needs close to where we work, youth and school programs, neighbors facing hardship, and community projects in our Wisconsin and Iowa service area. We focus locally so support actually makes a difference.
Honestly, no, we can’t say yes to everything, and we won’t pretend we can. But we read every nomination that comes in and genuinely want to know about the needs in the communities we serve.
No. Nominating a cause has nothing to do with buying anything, and there’s no sales follow-up tied to it. If you separately need roofing or exterior work, we’re happy to help with that too, but they’re not connected.
We’re a family-owned exterior contractor, in business since 1979, headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, with a team serving Centerville, Iowa, and the surrounding areas. Our owner, Chad Yates, grew up in the trade in Orfordville, Wisconsin.

Help us find the good close to home.

You know your community better than we do. If there's a local cause, organization, or neighbor we should know about, tell us. We're family-owned, we're local, and we want to show up for the places we work.
