Owner Chad Yates grew up in Orfordville, Wisconsin, on job sites, learning the trade under his father at the family's Yates Construction. He didn't read about how to build, he was handed a role and shown how to do it right.
That upbringing is the whole foundation of Buckshot: the standards a father teaches a son on a roof don't get cut when a job runs long or a margin gets tight. You do it the way you'd do it on your own house.

A family business that grew the right way.
Today Buckshot General Contracting is based at 621 N Sherman Ave in Madison, with a field office in Centerville, Iowa, and is licensed across 24 states. But the way we work hasn't changed with the footprint.
We run our own crews on every job, no subcontracting the work out to whoever's cheapest that week. The same standards Chad learned in Orfordville are the ones his crews are held to now, and the same name is on the truck, the license, and the warranty.
For Chad, it's personal in the most literal sense, his kids Archer, Ellie, and Addison are the next chapter of a family that's always built things.
