FAQ
It’s a fluid-applied coating rolled or sprayed over a cleaned and repaired existing roof. It seals seams and penetrations into a seamless, reflective membrane that waterproofs the roof and extends its life, all without a tear-off.
Restoration is typically a fraction of the cost of a full tear-off and replacement, since you skip demolition, disposal, and a new roof system. We assess the roof and put exact numbers in a written proposal.
A quality coating commonly lasts 10 to 20 years depending on the system and exposure, and it’s renewable, a recoat down the road can extend the roof again.
If the structure and insulation are sound and the problems are at the surface, usually yes. If the insulation is saturated or the roof has failed, no, and we’ll tell you that rather than coat over a problem.
For surface and seam leaks, usually yes, that’s what restoration is built for. If water is already trapped in wet insulation, that has to be addressed first. The assessment tells us which it is.
In many cases a restoration may be treated as a maintenance expense rather than a capital replacement, which can be an advantage. We’re roofers, not accountants, so confirm the specifics with your tax advisor.
