GAF only lets its top contractors issue the System Plus warranty. To stay Master Elite, a roofer has to be properly licensed, adequately insured, and have a proven reputation, which is why fewer than 2% of US roofers qualify.

A few things that quietly void a roof warranty.
We’d rather tell you upfront than have you find out later. Most voided warranties trace back to one of these, and the first is the big one.
Uncertified installation
The biggest one. The System Plus warranty only exists if a Master Elite contractor installs and registers it. A standard crew simply cannot issue it.
Layovers over old shingles
Installing new shingles over an old roof instead of a full tear-off hides decking problems and commonly voids the system warranty. We always tear off to the deck.
Poor ventilation
Inadequate attic ventilation overheats and ages shingles prematurely and can affect coverage. We assess and correct ventilation as part of every replacement.
